Description
Tea Tree is the woody, herbal scent in the Dr. Bronner's range, and the soap under it is the same true soap as the rest: coconut, palm kernel, olive, hemp seed and jojoba oils saponified with potassium hydroxide, with tea tree extract for the scent. It comes concentrated, so the brand's directions are written as drops, squirts and dilutions. Use it as a body wash or a hand wash when you want a sharp, herbal finish rather than a floral one, and dilute it down for cleaning jobs around the house.
Product Strengths
- Washes body, hands, face and hair, and dilutes down for household jobs.
- Lathers and rinses clean, leaving skin feeling soft rather than tight.
- Sits in the shower or beside the basin as an everyday wash with a herbal scent.
- Scented with tea tree extract.
- A true soap: plant oils saponified with potassium hydroxide, with no synthetic detergents and no added foaming agents.
- Made with organic and certified fair trade oils, several of them Regenerative Organic Certified.
- Vegan, and made without dyes.
- Bottled in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic.
- Concentrated, so most jobs take a squirt or a few drops rather than a handful.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Vegans. Everyday washing of body, hands, face and hair, and diluted use around the house.
Not suitable for: Washing pets, because tea tree oil may be harmful to them. Use in or near the eyes.
Suggested Use
| Use | How much |
|---|---|
| Face | 2 or 3 drops on wet hands, worked into a wet face. |
| Body | One small squirt on a wet washcloth, worked over wet skin. |
| Hair | A few drops for short hair, up to 7.5 mL for long hair, worked into very wet hair or pre-diluted in a cup of water. |
| Shaving | 10 drops for the face, 3 drops for the underarms, 2.5 mL for the legs, lathered in wet hands first. |
| Foaming pump dispenser | 1 part soap to 3 parts water. |
| Dishes by hand | Pre-dilute 1 part soap to 10 parts water, then squirt onto a scrub brush. |
| Toilet | Pre-dilute 1 part soap to 4 parts water in a squirt bottle. |
Pre-diluting the soap also dilutes its preservative, so mix small batches and use them up. Rinse thoroughly. Keep out of eyes. If the cap clogs, poke it clear rather than squeezing the bottle. Do not use this scent to wash pets, as tea tree oil may be harmful to them; speak to a vet first.
