Description
Honest to Goodness Organic Cashews are whole raw kernels with the rich, buttery, faintly sweet flavour that makes cashews so easy to eat by the handful. They are unroasted and unsalted with no added preservatives and no GMO. Soaked and blended they turn thick and creamy, which is why they are a staple of dairy-free cooking. It comes as the 1 kg and 500 g packs. Eat them raw, toast them for a stir fry or a curry, or soak them for a few hours and blend them into a dairy-free cream, a cheese sauce or a cheesecake filling.
Product Strengths

Is Cashew Nut right for you?
Common questions
Are cashews regulated as a medicine in Australia?
Cashew nut is a permitted ingredient in listed medicines (item 1230 on Australia's permitted ingredients list, Schedule 1), and the same kernel is also listed under its botanical name, Anacardium occidentale, at item 595. But cashews sold as food, whether whole, roasted, in pieces or as butter, fall under food standards law instead of medicine rules. We found no permitted health claim specific to cashews.
What's the difference between raw and roasted cashews?
Raw cashews are dried rather than cooked, so they're softer and milder. Roasting brings out a stronger, sweeter flavour and a firmer crunch, and it's usually done with a little oil and salt. Neither is more or less cashew than the other. It comes down to taste and what you're using them for.
