Description
Mindful Foods Organic and Activated Wildfire Cashews are organic cashews that have been activated, soaked and then dried slowly at low temperature rather than roasted, and tossed in Ziggy's Wild Foods hot sauce. The sauce is built on jalapeño chilli with wild harvested stinging nettle, organic finger lime, wild native thyme and wild Dorrigo pepper, and the nuts are finished with organic paprika, nutritional yeast and salt. They are hot, tart and savoury, so eat them as a snack on their own or scatter them over salads, grain bowls and grazing boards wherever you want heat and crunch.

Cashew Nut
What is a cashew nut?
A cashew is the buttery kernel of the cashew tree. Enjoy cashews whole, raw or roasted, in pieces for baking and cooking, or ground into a creamy butter.

Is Cashew Nut right for you?
Common questions
Are cashews regulated as a medicine in Australia?
Cashew nut is a permitted ingredient in listed medicines (item 1230 on Australia's permitted ingredients list, Schedule 1), and the same kernel is also listed under its botanical name, Anacardium occidentale, at item 595. But cashews sold as food, whether whole, roasted, in pieces or as butter, fall under food standards law instead of medicine rules. We found no permitted health claim specific to cashews.
What's the difference between raw and roasted cashews?
Raw cashews are dried rather than cooked, so they're softer and milder. Roasting brings out a stronger, sweeter flavour and a firmer crunch, and it's usually done with a little oil and salt. Neither is more or less cashew than the other. It comes down to taste and what you're using them for.
