Orgaid Information
What is in the Orgaid collection?
Six facial care products under the Orgaid name. For cleansing there is a cleansing oil built on sunflower, safflower and jojoba oils, and a gentle cleanser built on aloe vera juice. The balancing toner pairs niacinamide with lavender, rose and calendula waters, and the face polish uses finely milled brown rice and crystallised honey. The youth serum combines hyaluronic acid, ascorbyl glucoside and niacinamide on an aloe vera base, and the organic face oil is a short list of four plant extracts and oils.
Who is behind Orgaid?
The brand's own website says it was founded by biomaterials scientist Dr Ian Baek, and describes its products as “Made in California”. The same site names no organic certifying body, so the word organic on a product name or ingredient list is the brand's own description. Orgaid is the place to ask about its manufacturing and certification.
What should I check before using these products?
Read the ingredient list on the pack. Australian cosmetics must list ingredients on the container in descending order of volume or mass, as set out by Product Safety Australia. The product pages note that the face polish contains soybean oil and honey, and that the cleansing oil contains lavender and geranium essential oils, so a patch test is sensible if you are sensitive to essential oils. All six are for external use only.
