Vitamin B Complex
What does vitamin B complex do?
B vitamins help your body release energy from the food you eat, and a B complex brings all eight together in one. In pooled trials, people taking one had slightly lower stress scores.

Is Vitamin B Complex right for you?
How the forms compare
Common questions
What is the difference between a B50 and a B100?
The number is roughly how many milligrams of each of the main B vitamins you get. The one that matters is vitamin B6: a B50 gives you about 50 mg and a B100 about 100 mg, compared with an adult requirement of 1.3 mg. The NHMRC upper limit is 50 mg a day, and Australian law allows up to 100 mg in a listed medicine, so a B100 sits at the legal limit and at twice the recommended upper limit.
Why has my urine turned bright yellow?
That's riboflavin, vitamin B2. It dissolves in water and is strongly coloured, so whatever your body doesn't use leaves in your urine and tints it. It's harmless and expected with almost any B complex, and it isn't a sign the product is working or being wasted. It usually shows up within a few hours of your first dose.
Is it true that B vitamins reduce stroke risk?
Partly, and probably not in Australia. Pooled trials show B vitamins lower homocysteine by about 25 per cent and reduce stroke risk by around 10 per cent overall. When the results are split by country, the benefit shows up where flour isn't fortified with folic acid and disappears where it is, and Australia requires folic acid in bread-making flour. Stroke is also a disease, so it isn't something a supplement can claim here.
