Almond Flours
What is almond flour?
Almond flour is finely ground almonds, used where you'd normally use wheat flour, so it suits grain-free baking. Here it's already baked into crackers for you, so there's nothing to measure and nothing to mix.

Is Almond Flours right for you?
Common questions
Is almond flour the same as almond meal?
They're both ground almonds, and Australian labels use the names loosely. Flour is usually the finer grind and is often made from blanched almonds with the skins removed. Meal tends to be coarser and can include the skin. For baking, check the label for how fine it is, because that changes the texture you'll get.
Is almond flour regulated as a supplement in Australia?
No. It's a food, regulated under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code rather than medicine rules. Almond is on the permitted ingredients list for listed medicines (item 476), but that's a separate thing. Almonds are an allergen that must be declared under the Food Standards Code, so any product containing them has to say so.
