Infuse Tea Information
What is in the Infuse Tea collection?
Two single-ingredient Australian native spices: Infuse Tea Bush Tomatoes Ground in a 40g pack and Infuse Tea Lemon Myrtle Flakes in a 25g pack. Both sit with the pantry ranges, alongside other health pantry essentials.
What do the two spices taste like?
The bush tomato page describes a bold, sun-dried tomato flavour with a hint of caramel, so a little goes a long way, and suggests it for dishes with salmon, kangaroo or chicken and in sauces, breads and dressings. The lemon myrtle page describes dried leaf with a creamy citrus flavour, suggested for fish, chicken, ice creams, sorbets and stir-fries, or steeped as a herbal infusion.
How do you read the label on a native spice?
Packaged food in Australia must list its ingredients in descending order by ingoing weight, as Food Standards Australia New Zealand explains. Required allergens must also appear in the ingredient list and in a separate bold statement beginning with Contains, per the FSANZ allergen labelling guidance. The pack is the final word on ingredients and allergens.
Who is Infuse Tea?
The Infuse Tea Company website describes a Western Australian family owned and operated specialty tea company that began in 2002. For lemon myrtle, the Australian National Botanic Gardens records that the plant occurs naturally in Queensland coastal forests from Brisbane to Mackay.
