Description
Best of the Bone is a slow-cooked beef bone broth concentrate, not a dried powder. Certified grass-fed and grass-finished Australian and New Zealand beef leg bones and cartilage are simmered for more than 48 hours, and the result is reduced to a thick, spoonable paste that sets to a gel when cold. This is the Manuka Honey, Cinnamon and Ginger variant in a 390 g jar: the same beef bone marrow extract sweetened with Australian Blackbutt honey and New Zealand manuka honey, and warmed with organic Ceylon cinnamon and organic ginger. A heaped teaspoon in hot water makes a savoury-sweet mug of broth, or it can go into soups, sauces and marinades. A heaped teaspoon dissolved in hot water makes a savoury-sweet mug; the same spoonful melted into a pan sauce, a braise or a marinade gives it body without watering the dish down.
Product Strengths
- Dissolves in hot water for a mug of broth to drink on its own.
- Stirs into soups, pan sauces, braises and marinades to give them body.
- Grass-fed beef bone marrow bone extract makes up 69 per cent of the jar, so the broth is the main ingredient rather than a carrier.
- Slow-cooked for more than 48 hours from certified grass-fed and grass-finished Australian and New Zealand beef bones.
- A real concentrate rather than a spray-dried powder, so it dissolves into a broth with body.
- Manuka honey at 7.5 per cent, alongside Australian Blackbutt honey TA 35+, gives the natural sweetness.
- Organic Ceylon cinnamon and organic ginger give it warmth and a gently spiced finish.
- Sea salt is the only preservative; there are no fillers, no additives and no added flavours.
- Gluten free and dairy free.
- 390 g jar, and a heaped teaspoon makes a mug, so a jar goes a long way.

Bone Broth & Stocks
What is bone broth?
Bone broth is bones and connective tissue simmered for hours into a rich, savoury stock. Grab it ready to drink from the fridge aisle, or use it as a base for soups, risottos and sauces.

Is Bone Broth & Stocks right for you?
Common questions
What's the difference between bone broth and stock?
Not much. Both are made by simmering animal bones and connective tissue in water for hours, often with vegetables and a splash of vinegar. "Stock" is the older kitchen name, and "bone broth" became the usual term once it started being sold as a drink rather than just a cooking base. Recipes and labels use the two words interchangeably. The small jars of thick paste are different: those are reduced right down into bone broth concentrate.
Is bone broth regulated as a medicine in Australia?
No. We found no entry for "Bone Broth", "Bone Broth & Stocks" or "Stock" on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1), so it isn't a permitted ingredient for a listed medicine in its own right. It's sold as a food instead, under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. Collagen has its own entry as a separate ingredient, but that doesn't carry over to bone broth in general unless a product's own label supports a collagen claim.
