Description
Switch Nutrition Carbs is a plain, unflavoured carbohydrate powder made from equal parts glucose and maltodextrin. Both are fast-absorbing, high glycaemic index carbohydrates, which is what athletes generally want around a training session rather than through the rest of the day. There is nothing else in the tub: no flavours, colours or sweeteners. It comes as the 1 kg tub, which is 50 serves at the labelled 20 g scoop.
Product Strengths
- A 20 g scoop adds carbohydrate towards what a training day's intake calls for.
- Two ingredients only, glucose and maltodextrin, in equal parts.
- Both are fast-absorbing carbohydrates, easily digested and generally well tolerated around training.
- Unflavoured, so it can be added to an intra-workout drink, an amino blend or a protein shake without clashing.
- A 20 g scoop, with 50 serves in the 1 kg tub.
- No added gluten, dairy or soy ingredients.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Active adults and athletes.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients; Pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless advised by a health professional.
Suggested Use
Mix 1 to 2 scoops (20 g to 40 g) with water, or with an electrolyte or amino acid drink. Take it before, during or after training. Increase your water intake when you use it.
Ingredients
- Glucose (50 per cent).
- Maltodextrin (50 per cent).
The full nutrition information panel is printed on the tub, and the per-serve macronutrient figures are not consistently declared, so they are not declared. Read the panel on the pack you receive.
Allergens
The powder has no added gluten, dairy or soy containing ingredients, but it is made in a facility that also processes wheat, tree nuts, seeds, dairy, soy, corn and fish. Anyone with a severe allergy should treat it as a shared-facility product. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Warnings
This product is not intended or recommended for children under 15 years of age, or for pregnant or lactating women. It is a source of rapidly absorbed carbohydrate, so anyone managing blood glucose should speak with their healthcare provider before use. If you have a medical condition, take medication, or have severe allergies or sensitivities, consult your healthcare provider before use.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and keep the tub sealed between uses.
Disclaimer
This food is a formulated supplementary sports food and is not a sole source of nutrition. It should be used in conjunction with an appropriate physical training or exercise programme. Not suitable for children under 15 years of age or pregnant women: should only be used under medical or dietetic supervision. Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

Carbohydrate
What is a carbohydrate powder?
A carbohydrate powder gives you carbs for your training, ready to mix, usually as maltodextrin, dextrose or a blend of carb sources. Choose carbs on their own or paired with protein, and check the ingredients panel to see which one you've got.

Common questions
Is carbohydrate one ingredient?
No. It's a nutrient group that covers sugars, starches and fibres. In sports powders it usually means a specific source, such as maltodextrin or dextrose, or a blend of several. The ingredients panel on the back tells you which source you're buying.
