Can you buy NAC in Australia?
NAC is a form of the amino acid cysteine, and in Australia it's only allowed in creams, at a tiny strength. Instead, we stock legal options you can take by mouth, including cysteine, cystine and glutathione.

Common questions
Can I buy NAC in Australia?
Not as a supplement you swallow. Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1) includes acetylcysteine only as a supporting ingredient in creams, capped at 0.001%, not in capsules. The acetylcysteine products registered here are hospital injections and inhaler solutions. If you'd like a legal option you can take by mouth, cysteine, cystine and glutathione are all permitted.
Why can I buy NAC in the US but not in Australia?
The two countries regulate supplements differently. A US supplement can contain NAC under looser rules than ours. Here, a listed medicine can only use ingredients on Australia's permitted ingredients list, and acetylcysteine is on it only as a supporting ingredient in creams, so it can't legally be an active ingredient in anything you swallow.
Is NAC good for fertility?
Three separate reviews, covering around 700 men, found NAC taken by mouth improved sperm count, movement and shape. That's a genuinely consistent result. The catch is that you can't buy NAC itself here. Cysteine and cystine are the legal alternatives, but neither has been tested the same way on its own.
