Use it in place of ordinary salt in cooking and baking, or to season a dish just before it goes to the table.

Himalayan Salts
What is Himalayan salt?
Himalayan salt is pink rock salt, mined from the mountains rather than made from seawater, and trace iron oxide gives it that soft pink colour. Pick a fine grind for the table or a coarse one for your grinder and pan.

Is Himalayan Salts right for you?
Common questions
Is Himalayan salt different from table salt?
Chemically, barely. Both are almost entirely sodium chloride. Himalayan salt is mined as rock salt rather than evaporated from seawater or refined, and it carries trace minerals like iron oxide, which gives it the pink colour. Those traces are too small to make any real difference nutritionally.
Is Himalayan salt regulated as a medicine in Australia?
Not under that name. "Himalayan salt" isn't listed on Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1) itself, but it's chemically sodium chloride, which is a permitted ingredient. In practice, you buy Himalayan salt as a food and cooking salt under food law, not as a medicine, and there's no permitted health claim for it.
