Description
Owen Calc Phos 6C is a homoeopathic preparation of Calcarea phosphorica, calcium phosphate, made as small sucrose pillules, around 120 to a capped vial. 6C is a centesimal potency: the source material is diluted one part in a hundred and succussed, or shaken hard, and that step is repeated six times. A handy single remedy for your home remedy kit, it is chosen and repeated on homoeopathic principles, with a home prescribing reference or a homoeopath's guidance.
Product Strengths
- A single homoeopathic remedy for your home remedy kit, chosen and repeated on homoeopathic principles.
- Pillules dissolve under the tongue, so there is nothing to swallow and no water is needed.
- The cap doubles as a dispenser, so the pillules go from vial to mouth without being handled.
- Prepared from Calcarea phosphorica, calcium phosphate, one of the twelve Schuessler tissue salts.
- Potency 6C on the centesimal scale.
- Around 120 pillules per vial on a sucrose base.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Home prescribers keeping single remedies on hand; anyone who would rather let a pillule dissolve than swallow a tablet; anyone building or restocking a home remedy kit.
Not suitable for: Anyone with a known allergy to any ingredient; anyone with a milk allergy, until they have read the pillule base on the vial.
The pillules are sugar based, which is worth knowing if you are limiting sucrose. Keep them out of reach of children.
Ingredients
- Active: Calcarea phosphorica 6C.
- Source material: the mineral calcium phosphate, Calcarea phosphorica.
- Pillule base: sucrose.
- Around 120 pillules per vial.
Suggested Use
Let the pillules dissolve under the tongue rather than swallowing them whole; they are taken up in the mouth, so hold them there for a few minutes. Take a dose between meals, about half an hour before food, or at least ten minutes either side of food or a drink. To dispense, invert the cap, turn the pillules into it and tip them straight into the mouth rather than handling them; a pillule that is dropped is discarded rather than returned to the vial. When more than one remedy is being taken, leave at least ten minutes between them. Read the number of pillules per dose, and how often to repeat it, from the vial. Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
Storage
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Keep the vial away from strong smelling substances such as camphor, and keep the cap on between doses.
Disclaimer
Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Homoeopathic principles should be applied when using this remedy. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional. Keep out of reach of children.
Allergens
Check the vial for the pillule base and allergen information before use, especially if you have a milk allergy. Always review label for full list of ingredients.

How the forms compare
Common questions
Is Calc Phos a calcium supplement?
No. It's calcium phosphate prepared at 6X, the sixth step of a one-in-ten dilution, which leaves no meaningful amount of the mineral in the tablet. That's not a calcium dose. If you're worried about calcium for yourself or a child, a calcium supplement gives you milligrams you can count, and it's the one with trial evidence behind it.
Can I use Calc Phos for my teething baby?
Calc Phos is the tissue salt traditionally linked with teething, and Schüssler wrote that it "hastens dentition". The research doesn't back that up yet: a 2022 systematic review rated the homoeopathy teething studies as very low certainty, and none tested Calc Phos itself. Check with us before giving it to a baby, and check the tablets for lactose.
What does real calcium do for bone that Calc Phos doesn't?
A combined analysis of eight trials in nearly 31,000 adults found calcium plus vitamin D, at milligram and microgram doses, cut total fractures by 15% and hip fractures by 30%. That's what a nutrient dose looks like in the evidence. A 6X tissue salt is a different kind of product, and it hasn't been shown to do the same.
