Passionflower
What is passionflower?
Passionflower is a climbing vine and a traditional Western herb, often found in blends. Its dried herb is used in tablets, capsules and liquid tinctures, so look for Passiflora incarnata on the label.

Is Passionflower right for you?
Common questions
Why does the label say Passiflora incarnata rather than passionflower?
Because that's how Australian rules list it. Australia's permitted ingredients list (Schedule 1) names herbs by their botanical name, so passionflower appears as Passiflora incarnata, item 3718, with the dried herb listed separately at item 3717. If a blend's ingredient list says Passiflora incarnata, that's passionflower. If it only says passionflower, it's worth asking about the botanical name.
Can you buy passionflower on its own?
Sometimes, but it's far more often one herb in a blend, so the label matters more than usual. Check the full ingredient list so you know what else you're getting and how much of each. If you're not sure which product suits you, ask one of our naturopaths.
