Co Enzyme Q10 (65 products)

CoQ10 is a fat-soluble compound made by the body and stored in the mitochondria of your cells. CoQ10 comes in two different forms — CoQ10 ubiquinol and ubiquinone.

Ubiquinol makes up 90% of the CoQ10 in the blood and is the most absorbable form.

One of its most important functions is to help generate energy in your cells. It’s involved in making adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is involved in energy transfer within cells.

CoQ10 is needed by every cell of your body, with the highest concentrations found in organs with the greatest energy demands, such as the heart, kidneys, lungs and liver.

CoQ10 production decreases as you age and health conditions like heart disease, Parkinson disease, diabetes, and cancer have been linked to low levels of CoQ10.

Health benefits of CoEnzyme Q 10 include

  • May help treat heart failure by improving heart function, increasing ATP production and reducing oxidative damage.

  • The antioxidant properties of CoQ10 may help improve sperm quality and reduce the decline in the number and quality of eggs in women.

  • Supplementing with CoQ10 can help increase insulin sensitivity and improve blood sugar levels.

CoQ10 dosage can vary and will depend on the disorder being treated. Generally, to treat a coenzyme Q10 deficiency, at least 150mg per day is needed. Generally, CoQ10 supplements are available in CoQ10 100mg capsules or sublingual tablets, Coq10 150mg capsules, CoQ10 300mg capsules and as a CoQ10 liposome liquid.

Stop using coenzyme Q10 at least two weeks before a scheduled surgery due to its effects on blood pressure and blood clotting.
