Description
Honest to Goodness Organic 5 Grain Goodness is a blend of five organic wholegrains that have been simply steamed and gently rolled into flakes. It is designed to be used the way you would use rolled oats, as a one-for-one swap in porridge, muesli, granola and baking, with a little more texture and a nuttier flavour than oats alone. It comes as the 850 g bag.
Product Strengths
- Five organic rolled wholegrains in one bag. Honest to Goodness is certified by ACO (Australian Certified Organic).
- Steamed and rolled only, with no added preservatives, sweeteners, colours or flavours.
- Works as a one-for-one replacement for rolled oats in any recipe.
- Plant based, so it suits vegan and vegetarian eating.
Suitable For / Not Suitable For
Suitable for: Vegans and vegetarians; Everyday snacking and meals.
Not suitable for: Anyone with an allergy to the listed ingredients.
Serving Suggestion
For porridge, combine one part grains with two parts milk or water in a saucepan and cook uncovered over medium heat for five to ten minutes, stirring often. Add dried fruit or cinnamon while it cooks, and finish with milk and a little maple syrup if you like. The blend also makes a good base for home-made muesli and granola, and can replace rolled oats in baking. Soaking the grains overnight in water with a squeeze of lemon juice softens them and gives a creamier porridge. Confirm serving and directions from product label.
Ingredients
- Organic rolled oats.
- Organic rolled spelt.
- Organic rolled quinoa.
- Organic rolled barley.
- Organic rolled triticale on this 850 g bag. Honest to Goodness now uses organic rolled rye as the fifth grain in the current 500 g pack, so check the ingredient list on the bag you receive.
Allergens
Contains: gluten, and wheat by way of spelt, which is a wheat species. Wheat and gluten are declared on this blend. May be present: sesame, soy and tree nuts. Not suitable for anyone avoiding gluten or wheat. Always review label for full list of ingredients.
Nutrition Information
The nutrition information panel is printed on the bag. Read it there, as the figures differ between the pack sizes and label generations of this blend.
