Calcium-D-Glucarate is the calcium salt of D-glucaric acid
- Calcium-D-Glucarate is broken down in the stomach to form D-glucaric acid, and further broken down in the intestines to D-glucaro-1,4-lactone
- D-glucaro-1,4-lactone inhibits beta-glucuronidase, which is produced by intestinal microflora
- D-glucaric acid is found in fruit including apples, grapefruits, oranges and cruciferous vegetables
- D-glucaric acid is involved in conjugation processes of the liver
- Doses used in research range from 1500-3000mg daily
