The study examined the medical records of more than 275’000 obese men and women over the ages of 20. The researchers found that the annual likelihood of obese individuals achieving a healthy weight was 1 in 210 for men and 1 in 124 for women. Even worse, for morbidly obese individuals the probabilities of achieving a healthy weight were 1 in 1290 for men and 1 in 677 for women!
