Watson & Son Manuka Honey contains methylglyoxal, an ingredient found in genuine Manuka Honey. Watson & Son Manuka Honey is harvested from remote and pristine regions of New Zealand. New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) have identified Methylglyoxal (MG or MGO) as being a key compound that occurs naturally in Manuka Honey over time. Methylglyoxal in New Zealand Manuka Honey originates from the chemical compound DHA which is present in the nectar of Manuka flowers to varying degrees. DHA, from the nectar, is chemically converted to MGO during the production of honey in the hive.
