Remedial massage
Remedial Massage is the art of manipulating the soft tissues of the body to help relieve pain, improve blood flow and address both acute and chronic injuries. A Remedial massage therapist is trained to systematically assess and treat muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue within the body to help to reduce and eliminate pain as well as assisting to restore function and mobility to the affected area. Remedial massage works by softening and lengthening muscles tissue that may have become tight and restricted due to over use, lack of use, poor posture or a recent injury. Remedial massage helps to balance the tissues in the body, this in turn releases tension on stressed joints and allows the return to a normal position, increasing range of motion and relieving pain in joints. Remedial massage also assists in the break down of scar tissue, blockages and/or adhesions in soft tissue which may be the result of injury, by doing this, blood circulation and the flow of lymphatic fluid is increased which can help to speed up recovery time and help to reduce and/or eliminate chronic pain. Remedial massage is something that can benefit everyone especially for those who sit at a desk for an extended period of time, those who are on their feet all day or those who engage in a lot of physical activity or strenuous work.  Our bodies are constantly adapting to both the physical and emotional stress we put them through in our day-to-day routines. Massage can be extremely beneficial for everyone; helping to reduce stress, relieve those niggling aches and pains that pop up from time to time and improve general health and well being.
