Allergies: Why does this have to happen to me?

Allergies: Why does this have to happen to me?

Sneezing, watery nasal discharge, itchy eyes nose and throat and inflamed skin all have something in common. They are symptoms of allergic reactions associated with IgE activity.

Allergies and IgE

Immunoglobulin E (IgE) activity is very important when it comes to allergies. Put simply, it’s a type of antibody that ‘over activates’ specific and very sensitive white blood cells. This reaction produces various allergic symptoms ranging from mild/moderate to more severe which require immediate medical attention. IgE activity is triggered by an allergen such as pollen, dust or gluten. Not everyone has an allergic response to these normally harmless substances, but people with allergies can have what has been called a ‘hypersensitive’ immune system. Allergic symptoms associated with IgE activity include;
  • Hayfever
  • Eczema and Dermatitis
  • Hives

What can you do?

Consider scientifically and traditionally evidenced herbs to help relieve allergic symptoms especially those associated with IgE-mediated hypersensitivity reactions;
  • Bupleurum falcatum (Bupleurum)
  • Pinellia ternata (Pinellia)
  • Zingiber officinale (Ginger)
  • Scutellaria baicalensis (Baical Skullcap)
  • Zizyphus jujuba (Red Date)
  • Glycyrrhiza uralensis (Licorice)
The traditional Chinese herbal formula (Xiao Chai Hu Tang) from the Eastern Han Dynasty 25 AD is now one of the most popular Chinese medicines in the world, providing anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory and immune balancing effects to people looking for symptom relief from allergies.
