9 Steps to Boost Your Fat Burning and Weight Loss

Check these effective ways to boost your fat burning…

It’s always a good time to get your body to burn more fat.

Here are some great ideas from Mr Vitamins practitioner Richard Taylor to help you create new habits for weight loss.

Fat Burn Tip No. 1: Eat dinner before sunset

Going to bed on a full stomach is not recommended for optimal fat loss. The energy your body hasn’t used will be stored for the next day, most likely in the form of fat. The best time to eat your big meal is breakfast time. Make your last meal at 5pm and watch the weight melt away.

Fat Burn Tip No. 2: Walk to Work

The benefits of walking to work are more than just physical. Getting out in the fresh air in the early morning is rejuvenating and refreshing. And that quiet time to contemplate the upcoming day is psychologically stimulating. Of course, every step that you take is burning calories, too. GOAL: aim for 10,000 steps a day

Fat Burn Tip No. 4: Eat Slowly and Chew Your Food

A study has found that eating slowly and having smaller bites makes us feel less hungry an hour afterwards than if we chow down on our food. Researchers discovered that people who ate slowly, ate on average, 88 fewer calories than the fast eaters. Not only will you lose more KGs with this simple trick, you will be enjoying your food and much more sociable at the dinner table

Fat Burn Tip No. 4: Eat Your Fruit

That tired old phrase ”An apple a day keeps the doctor away” is truer than you may realise. Fruits like apples and pears contain a fibre called pectin that binds to bile acids in the digestive system. This triggers a process that helps to remove bad cholesterol from your body. In addition the fibre in fruit contains a lot of bulk, which fills you up and keeps you full for longer.

How much fruit should you eat?

During a fat loss program, its OK to temporarily reduce your fruit intake to avoid the extra sugar (cut the lollies before you cut fruit however). Include at least 1 serving of fruit a day, at least 2-3 servings on days that you have exercised.

Fat Burn Tip No. 5: Cut the Milk & Sugar

Coffee in the morning is every Australian’s birth right! It’s mood enhancing and can even give your workouts an energy boost. But the sugar and milk might halt your weight loss efforts. Go for a long black or ask for almond milk to give yourself the benefits without the negatives, and if you really need a bit of sweetness, add a pinch of Stevia or Xylitol – The best tasting and most natural calorie-free sweeteners.

Fat Burn Tip No. 6: Find A Fitness Buddy

Working out with a partner will make you accountable. You will also be able to feed off of each other’s energy and thrive off some healthy competition. For an even greater shot in the arm, workout with someone of the opposite sex – studies show that your performance will improve due to not wanting to fail (especially if you’re a guy).

Fat Burn Tip No. 7: Get a Personal Trainer

A personal trainer will coach you along your fat loss journey. They’ll give you the tools, the motivation, the opportunity and the knowledge to be the best you that you can possible be. Without a trainer you may feel like a yacht without a rudder. With one, you’ll be seamlessly cutting through the waves as you zone in on your fat loss goals.

Fat Burn Tip No. 8: Join an Outdoor Fitness group

Joining an outdoor fitness group will rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. The ever-changing outdoor environment will enhance your functional fitness, improving your balance, agility, strength and coordination. It will also lead to enhanced calorie burning and cardiovascular health. Of course, you will also be making new friends who’ll be able to support your body transformation endeavours.

Fat Burn Tip No. 9: Make a time to be sober!

Wanna lose weight, save money AND get social in a different way? Why don’t you take a month off alcohol? With about 180 calories in an average pint of beer, you’ll be feeling a lot trimmer and rediscover how enjoyable a hangover-free Sunday morning can be.
