Omega 3 essential fatty acids (EPA & DHA) are named as such, as they are essential to our health. Unfortunately we can’t synthesise these ourselves, therefore the only way to obtain them is through our diet and supplementation. WHY TAKE OMEGA 3?
Flaxseed provides the body with omega-3 in the far less effective form of alpha-linoleic acid (ALA). ALA is not
equivalent to DHA or EPA in its biological effects, and needs to be converted to EPA in order to be effective.
The main source of vitamin D is via exposure to sunlight. So as people start to spend more time in doors both at work and/or at home, risks of deficiencies increase. This makes supplemental Vitamin D even more important.
