Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) also known as St Mary’s thistle is native to southern Europe, southern Russia, Asia Minor, and northern Africa. Historically, people have used milk thistle for liver disorders, such as hepatitis and cirrhosis, and gallbladder problems.
