Burdock (Arctum lappa) is extracted from the root of the plant and used to treat gut complaints. The leaves or roots can be used for skin infections, wounds, eczema and psoriasis. The young leaves can be eaten as salad. Burdock root and leaves may have diuretic and blood sugar lowering effects. They are also antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory.
