Psyllium husks come from the Psyllium seed, and provide a healthy, natural source of dietary fibre. Helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels and a healthy digestive system. Psyllium Husks can be used as a mild laxative as it is gentler than bran.

Psyllium husk is one of the most gentle yet effective dietary fibres available. A natural mucilaginous bulk forming agent which absorbs water to form a mucilaginous mass to ensure gentle and free bowel evacuation. 2 to 3 days may be needed for optimal relief from constipation. Made from natural grain, the Psyllium seed, the fibre is not retained by the body.
Adults - Take 5g (approximately two 5mL metric spoonfuls) once or twice a day mixed with a full glass (250mL) of cool water or fruit juice. Stir briskly and drink immediately. An additional glass of water is helpful. If not swallowed immediately a gel will form, which you can eat, or mix with yoghurt, fruits or breakfast food.
Children 8-12 years - Give 2.5g (one 5mL metric teaspoonful) daily mixed as above.
Psyllium Husk Powder 5g
Free from sugar, yeast, corn, starch, milk derivatives, gluten, preservatives, artificial colours and flavours.
Use only as directed. Do not take if you have difficulty swallowing. If symptoms persist seek medical advice. Do not use when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting is present. May cause allergic reactions in people sensitive to Psyllium Powder. Always read the label.
